Dusty Floyd is an expert in the field of Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) specializing in health and wellness. Inspired by a passion of her father’s, Dusty has been practicing CAM modalities for over 15 years. Before receiving her Master’s degree in Complementary Alternative Medicine in 2013 from the American College of Healthcare Sciences in Portland, OR, Dusty was a star athlete. Winning numerous softball awards and state championships in her teen years; she went on to earn a full academic-athletic scholarship to Monmouth University. Playing division one softball was a full-time job in itself, but it is no surprise that because of her work ethic she graduated in just a little over three years with a major and two minors maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She received awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and ESPN Magazine for scholastics and athletics, and she was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Northern Burlington Regional High School for her softball achievements. Dusty also maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout graduate school.
During her athletic career Dusty had the opportunity to train with some of the foremost college athletic trainers. She carried this training knowledge into her post college life where she continues to grow, explore and perfect different exercise modalities.
As a motivator and role model, Dusty has a unique connection with the people she helps that stems from her own personal journey towards wellness. Many of Dusty’s closest family members and friends including her husband, mother, aunt and dear friend were plagued with cancer. Sadly her aunt and friend lost the battle to cancer. Dusty’s own daughter, barely a year old at the time, faced severe medical challenges that Dusty helped her to overcome through proper nutrition. Dusty also saw family and friends struggle with their weight, type II diabetes and high blood pressure. She was determined to help her family and friends become healthy and whole again. Dusty did just that through her dedication and hard work.
Dusty believes in treating the person as a whole. The human body is a complicated system that seeks to work in unison with all of its parts: mind, body and soul. Dusty’s main objective is to help her clients believe they must need, want, and deserve better health. She will achieve this goal through nutritional and fitness counseling giving her clients all the necessary tools to significantly change their lives, not just their waistline.
