Course Description:
Nat 212 is the third of three Level Two anatomy and physiology courses at
ACHS. It grants credit towards all ACHS Diplomas and is required general
education for the Associate of Applied Science in Complementary
Alternative Medicine (AAS).
The focus of the anatomy and
physiology courses at ACHS is holistic anatomy and physiology. Holistic
health is based on restoring the normal structure and function of the
human body for optimal wellness. In order to understand how to restore
balance to the body systems, students must first understand the normal
structure and function of those systems.
This course covers the following body systems: Digestive,
liver and gall bladder, fluid and electrolyte and acid/base balance, male and
female reproductive systems, growth and development, and aging.
Prerequisites:
Nat 211 and and recommendation for admission.
Taught:
This course is completed over 16 weeks. Minimum
study time recommended is 9 hours per week including online time,
homework, reading, labs and practical work.
Credit:
3 semester credits.
Continuing Education Credit:
RN: 230 hours. Vet: 6 hours. Massage: 230 hours. Pharmacists: 172.5 Therapeutic and 47.5 Other credit hours.
