This program:
- Trains students for a successful career in the herbal retail industry.
Program Description:
Graduates of the Certificate in Herbal Retail Management will be able to discuss herbs including their history and current research as well as be able to identify, discuss, and safely use the 50 organic or sustainably wild-crafted botanicals studied. Students will study the therapeutic uses, contraindications, and methods of administration of common botanicals.
Students also learn to assess the quality of botanicals and understand the primary production methods of preparations including tinctures, decoctions, infusions, and teas.
The Certificate in Herbal Retail Management provides training in how to recommend herbal supplements for preventative health and how to incorporate herbs in daily life to support optimal health and wellness. In addition, graduates are able to formulate herbal blends for therapeutic and bodycare products, cosmetics and soap-making.
Graduates will also have training in how to legally and successfully operate their own business including advertising, marketing, developing a business plan and professional goals and related professional ethics.

Study Time:
Each course within the Certificate is completed over 16 weeks. Minimum study time recommended for each course is 9 hours per week. Graduates are awarded the Certificate in Herbal Retail Management - Certified Herbal Retailer.
