Herb 302 Herbal Materia Medica Online

Course Description:
Herb 302 is the first of a series of herbal materia medica courses, studying each botanical in depth, including its therapeutic actions, active constituents, methods of administration, cautions and contraindications, and current research. Botanicals include a selection from the following therapeutic groups: alterative, demulcent, cathartic, anthelmintic, astringent, and diuretic herbs.
Herb 302 grants credit towards the Master Herbalist Diploma and the Herbal Medicine major for the Associates of Applied Science in Complementary Alternative Medicine (AASCAM).

Prerequisites:
Herb 101 and Herb 201. Admissions interview and recommendation for admission from the Dean of Admissions.
Study Time:
This course is completed over 16 weeks. Minimum study time recommended is 9 hours per week.
Credit:
3 semester credits.
Continuing Education Credit:
RN: 230 hours. Vet: 6 hours. Massage: 230 hours. Pharmacists: 172.5 Therapeutic and 47.5 Other credit hours.
